ACC reconnected to water supply system all debtor apartment blocks

Chisinau’s water supplier, SA „Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC), reconnected to the water supply system all the apartment blocks switched-off previously for debts. ACC complied in this way with the disposal of the Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev. In a disposal addressed to the city hall of Chisinau, the water supply enterprise and the Ministry of Health and Social protection, Tarlev says switching-off water supply is unacceptable, risking leading to possible infection foci, taking into account the worsening of the avian flu influenza in neighbor countries. The prime minister required the responsible bodies to identify another way to collect debts, avoiding affecting loyal consumers. Mihai Golban, the head of the ACC Public Relations Department, informed that the society reconnected those 20 switched-off apartment blocks, and now other solutions to collect debts are used. According to him, ACC proposes a gradually debt collection program till the end of the year – in case of apartment blocks with big debts, and for 3 months – with small debts. In case if certain administrators refuse to sign this engagement, they will be sued at law, Golban mentioned. The population of the municipality has debts for water supply and sewerage services of about 150 million lei.
