ACC makes final preparations for cold season

The water utility Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) is in the final stage of preparing the city's water and sewer piping for the cold season. On Wednesday, 20 teams of ACC workers were dispatched to 40 locations as part of preparatory work. ACC deputy director Vitalie Midari said that on Wednesday and Thursday the utility's workers were engaged in replacing and cleaning pipes, reservoirs, hydrants and faucets. At the Pumping Station, pumps and electrical equipment are overhauled and repaired. Vitalie Midari announced that the preparations could involve major supply disruptions and the utility has prepared 12 tank trucks to provide the residents. Nine months into this year, the utility spent roughly 80 million lei on maintenance and major repairs on the water and sewer piping.
