The specialists of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) in July took more than 12,000 samples of drinking water from different sources. Before being pumped into the municipal supply system, the water is tested daily based on over 25 physical-chemical and bacteriological parameters, IPN reports.

In a press release, the supplier says water samples were taken from the Nistru River, the Chisinau waste water treatment station, the Nistru water station, the centralized water supply system of Chisinau municipality, artesian wells and wells with a local spring managed by the ACC. The specialists tested also the quality of water in new water pipes that are later connected to the centralized municipal system, after dealing with leakages based on clients’ complaints.

The ACC labs overall examined 12 094 samples and performed 22 249 physical-chemical and 1 589 bacteriological tests. The quality of water is monitored daily through the agency of two labs, namely the lab of the Nistru water station and the drinking water lab, which were both accredited in accordance with the international standards.

The results of the physical-chemical and bacteriological tests on drinking water in the centralized supply system are published quarterly on the company’s website www.acc.md.
