Two Chisinay households had their water supply cut off and dozens more were fined for stealing water following a recent operation by the supplier Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC).
The inspections targeted a residential neighborhood in Buiucani district, where 60 households were found to have some form of inaccurate or unauthorized consumption, including illegal connections to the water supply or sewage pipes.
“(ACC) has declared war on violations related to water supply and sewer services, on illegal connections and fraudulent consumption. To this end, our employees carry out unannounced inspections in various parts of Chisinau municipality on a daily basis”, the supplier said in a press release.
ACC is asking the members of the public to report instances of fraudulent use of water supply and sewer services to a confidential phone line by calling 022 256 980 or by e-mail at acc@acc.md.
