The water supplier of Chisinau urges the consumers not to throw food remains or household waste into the toilets as the whole sewerage system can become blocked, IPN reports.
In a press release, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” says the company’s specialists in 2016 dealt with over 4,000 cases of blocking of sewers, an increase of about 8% on 2015.
In large sewers, there were found all kinds of household waste, rather large metal components and tires. In most of the cases, the sewers are blocked by building materials that prevent the water from flowing. Therefore, the areas that were transformed by people into a waste dump risk being flooded.
