Academy of Sciences has two new members

Constantin Turta, laboratory head at the Chemistry Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, and Serafim Andries, director of the Pedagogy, Agrochemstry and and Soil Protection Institute became academicians under a decision taken in the Academy's general assembly on December 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the meeting, the two presented by a scientific report: Constantin Turta a report themed “Use of solar energy in water photolysis process”, while Serafim Andries a report titled “State of the soil and remediation measures”. Thirty-six members of the Academy took part in the voting. Constantin Turta was named academician by 35 votes for and 1 against, while Serafim Andries – by 34 votes for and 2 against. Academician Constantin Turta said he had emotions, but now feels fine and thinks of the first steps that he will take in his researches. Constantin Turta and Serafim Andries were proposed as candidates for the post of academician under a decision of the assembly of the Nature and Life Sciences Division of December 13.
