The Academy of Father Christmas will award on Monday, 17 December, the winners of the contest for the best Christmas and winter ornaments. The winners will receive diplomas, money awards and presents. All the works participating in the contest will be exhibited at the charity fair Winter Bazaar, to be held on Saturday, December 15, at the International Exhibition Centre Moldexpo.
According to organisers, the contest’s objectives are to consolidate the pride for the secular traditions and symbols of the winter holidays, support artistic initiatives, and to introduce people to the winter holidays’ symbols of diverse nations. The contest is a chance for the gifted people to put their works for the consideration of the public and professional opinion.
The contest is held at two categories: the best national style ornament and the best other nations’ style ornament. The jury includes diplomats accredited in Moldova, well-known designers, personalities of the art world, and representatives of the business community.
In addition, the Trolleybus of New Year Wishes will crisscross Chisinau streets between December 24 and 28, from 15.00 to 19.00. According to the programme manager, Rada Bondarciuc, “the magic route” will cover the portion between the Railway Station and Alunelul Park with stops at stations on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard. The programme will feature competitions, jokes, joys and many awards.
The Academy of Father Christmas is administrated by the Charity Foundation Clipa Siderala, which organises between December 17 and 24 the traditional Christmas Caravan to bring joys and presents to children in boarding schools and remote villages.
