Moldova's Science Academy recommends the Moldovan doctors to be cautious in identifying people having swine flu, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique of the Academy.
In the academicians' opinion, it's important that in Moldova the flue and respiratory infections morbidity is monitored on a weekly basis, through nine so-called watch points.
The system has the necessary watching means, to duly diagnose and identify the flu viruses and to isolate the suspected people. There is also a well-endowed virology lab in Chisinau, as other two start working in Cahul and Drochia.
In order to provide medical assistance to the people having caught this type of flu, the Health Ministry shall prepare the necessary reserves of last-generation antiviral medicines. The World Health Organization has no vaccine against the swine flu so far.
The new swine flu virus A (H1N1) is qualified as an international emergency of public health. The World Health Organization Wednesday decided to raise the alert level to 5 and asked the countries to prepare for a possible pandemic of swine flu, it considers "imminent".
