The people could anonymously and safely report abuses and wrongdoings committed by the authorities or witnessed in society on the website anonim.md. The platform was launched by the public association “Jurists for Human Rights“ on December 11, IPN reports.
According to project coordinator Olga Cebanu, through the agency of the platform the senders can choose the addressee from among the listed media outlets, journalists or NGOs. The platform enables the sender and the addressee to continue the discussion, with the sender remaining anonymous. The task of addressees is to verify the received information before opening an investigation or making this public.
The institutions that want to become addressees should send a message to the email address of the association “Jurists for Human Rights“ and will receive a message with the user name and website password. The senders do not need to create an account.
Radu Ștefănescu, representative of Code4Romania, which developed the platform, said a similar platform was designed in Romania.
Viorica Zaharia, journalist of MoldovaCurata.md, said the platform is an efficient instrument that can be trusted given that it is secured. It can become a good instrument for journalists, including the investigation ones, who could turn signals from citizens into well documented materials.
The platform is already functional. Thre are now over ten institutions, persons and NGOs listed as addressees.
