Absentee rate in Chisinau kindergartens nears one-third

Some 29 per cent of children enrolled in Chisinau's pre-school institutions were absent this week for various reason, but mostly due to the fact that the parents who are on leave now prefer to spend more time with them, explained Tatiana Botnaru, counselor at the municipal Education Division. Tatiana Botnaru told Info-Prim Neo that, of the total number enrolled, around 23,000 children attended kindergarteners, while slightly more than 9,500 were absent. Only for percent were missing due to sickness, mostly respiratory infections. There are 151 kindergartens in Chisinau which are attended by over 32,000 children.
