“The absence of the parliamentary majority and, as a result, the absence of a quorum made the holding of the Parliament sitting impossible and this is nothing else but a new action of usurpation of the power in the state,” Shor Party MP Marina Tauber stated in Parliament.
Marina Tauber noted the gesture of the parliamentary majority is part of the actions taken by Dodon to profit from the state of emergency and impose control and subdue all the state institutions, including Parliament, IPN reports.
The MP criticized some of the provisions of the draft law that was to be presented in Parliament today, saying these are designed ”to enrich the Dodon clan”. “The Government was ashamed to present to Parliament and the citizens the so-called anti-crisis program that mainly contains sterile and inefficient measures that will not have effects on the economy and the citizens,” stated Marina Tauber.
The April 2 sitting of Parliament, where the Government was to present the bill for which it assumed responsibility, didn’t have a quorum. The Socialist and Democratic MPs didn’t appear at the sitting. After the Parliament’s Secretariat announced that only 39 MPs were present, Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi said the sitting cannot be opened because a quorum is not present.
