Candidates in local elections Dumitru Țîra, Ivan Diacov, Alexandru Fetescu, Victor Chironda have participated in the second round of IPN public debates "Only one from many: who and why?", 119th edition of the cycle "Development of political culture in public debates", supported by the German Foundation Hanns Seidel.

After mayor office, democracy expert

Dorin Chirtoaca, former city manager, stated that, if he had not had a sense of duty towards the fight that he waged for years, he would not have participated in these elections. Saddened, Dorin Chirtoaca has also mentioned that in this election campaign "democracy is not respected", urging the residents of the capital to vote consciously on Sunday, October 20.

Over the course of the last three electoral cycles, the share of women candidates for mayor position has increased by 5%, reaching 27,1% for October 20 elections. If the trend continues, Moldova will reach the 40% share of mayoral women candidates after three electoral cycles, which is in 2030.
