Approximately 80 settlements in ten districts remained without power owing to the elements. Among the affected districts are Criuleni, Straseni, Orhei, Ialoveni and ATU Gagauzia, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, several dozen cases of tree and branch falling were reported in Chisinau at about 8am. Rescuers intervened to fell and remove the downed trees from the streets G. Cosbuc, V. Alecsandri, Gh. Asachi and others.
In Dubasari district, rescuers helped to tow away a truck that skidded off the road.
