Approximately 400 workers are daily engaged in the manual cleaning of the municipality of Chisinau. The workers clean all the public spaces, including courtyards of apartment buildings. In order to facilitate the disposal of vegetative waste, the municipal enterprises were provided with 7 to 30 means of transport, IPN reports.
The General Housing and Amenities Division reported that between June 3 and 9, the workers cleaned the playgrounds and sports fields, platforms for collecting household waste, public transport stations and emptied garbage cans.
Also, improvised or unauthorized kiosks, gates, fences and anti-parking devices on public land were demolished and worn metal elements on playgrounds in courtyards of residential blocks were dismantled and taken away. Construction waste, foliage and dry branches were also taken away. Last week, 197 trucks of waste were disposed of.
In addition to manual cleaning, the mechanized cleanup of the main and secondary arteries, as well as the sidewalks, was also carried out, using Hako machines and vacuum sweepers attached to tractors. About 20 units were involved in these works daily, while on Sunday – 10 units.
