Approximately 400 workers and 40 tractors are daily gathering leaves in Chisinau. Among the 40 tractor trailers used to collect vegetal waste are new vehicles bought recently with money allocated from the municipal budget. Seventeen automated aspirators are used in the mechanized cleanup process and five of them are attached to tractors, the head of the Cleanup and Territorial Development Division of the General Public Amenities Division Vasile Efros has told IPN.
According to Vasile Efros, the leaves from sidewalks and in parks are gathered the first, followed by the leaves in yards of apartment buildings. The works will continue until all the leaves that fell are collected. The previous years, the process lasted until the middle or even the end of December.
Earlier this month, the General Public Amenities Division purchased a number of vehicles and pieces of equipment for the cleanup works to the value of about 7 million lei. These could be also used in winter, in snow removal works.
