The Chisinau Public Health Center banned the consumption of almost 350 kg of food products of low standards found in a number of supermarkets in the capital city, IPN reports.

The Center’s specialists identified more than 270 kg of culinary products without labels, over 70 kg of fish and meat products without labels and almost 70 kg of products ready for consumption with the use-by date expired. Also, some of the products didn’t have the use-by date on them. Among other identified violations were the non-respecting of technological procedures, mingling of sanitary and insanitary processes and employment of personnel without medical examination and hygienic training.

Chief state sanitary doctor Luminita Suveica took a number of decisions by which the sale of the uncoordinated assortment of food products made in the absence of the necessary conditions was banned. There were also issued a number of sanitary prescriptions for removing the identified violations.

The supermarket managers and persons in charge will be held accountable over violation of the sanitary-hygienic and sanitary-anti-epidemic rules and norms.
