The ninth “Made in Moldova” exhibition opened at Moldexpo on January 27. It occupies an area of 2,000 square meters and sums up the results of the previous entrepreneurial year, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the opening of the event, Prime Minister Vlad Filat welcomed the participants in the exhibition, praising them for their determination to overcome the obstacles and continue work despite the economic crisis. He said that the title of the exhibition is significant as it makes the national companies to offer goods and services of the highest quality, about which one can say proudly that they are made in Moldova. Gheorghe Cucu, the head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry, which is one of the organizers of the event, said the exhibition tends to become international. This year's exhibit brought together companies from Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Romania. “I'm glad that our entrepreneurs did not lose hope and came to promote their new products. We make clothes from leather and other natural materials. We went through hard times, but we pulled ourselves together and coped with the difficulties. We will soon launch a series of new products and intend to expand our business,” said Natalia Diacenco, manager of the Hancesti-based company Bioprogram. “The crisis is a tax that we pay to each company from Moldova and not only. But is is also an opportunity to improve our work and make competitive products. We continue to promote the production traditions and principles of our investor Lafarge,” said Leonid Nicoroici, managing director of the Rezina-based cement plant. The additional program of the exhibition includes roundtable meetings themed “New Business Regulation Practices”, “Types of Support Provided to Farmers,” “Fiscal and Customs Policy Measures for 2010”, etc. The winners of the contest “Trademark of the Year” will be announced on January 28. A Job Fair was opened on January 27 and will last by January 30, when the exhibition closes.
