Approximately 25,000 socially disadvantaged families from Moldova will receive coal from Romania. An agreement to this effect was signed by Minister of Economy Andrian Candu and the State Secretary of the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu, IPN reports.

Andrian Candu told a press briefing that the total value of the project is €2 million. “Such a contribution and assistance are welcome. That coal will definitely find its users,” he stated.

For his part, Bogdan Aurescu said the agreement is a very important one in the bilateral relations and is the merit of the Prime Ministers of the two states. “Today we signed four memorandums of understanding. This is the fourth and probably the most important one. This memorandum has a special social importance and is the expression of Romania’s solidarity,” he stated.

The coal was purchased from a Romanian company. The project implementation stages are: acquisition, transportation and distribution of the coal to socially deprived families.
