About 20,000 persons with COVID-19 received compensated drugs

Approximately 20,000 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 collected compensated preparations during the first four months of this year. These are drugs issued according to the treatment scheme and medicines for treating other diseases, including complications caused by the novel coronavirus, IPN reports, quoting the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM).

Over 7.6 million lei was spent from the mandatory heath insurance funds for the purpose. By April 17 inclusive, the given medicines were fully compensated for children younger than 18 and 70% compensated for adults. From this date, the compensation rate for adults has been raised from 70% to 100%.
