Parents from flood-stricken areas are looking for schools for their children, with the authorities offering them solutions. About 200 students from Sarateni and Cotul Morii villages of Hancesti district will study at different education institutions, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the deputy head of Hancesti district Igor Turcanu, the children will study at schools in Hancesti, Leuseni, Movileni, and Nemteni. The school in Nemteni housed flood victims during the last two months and is now in need of repair. “About 40 students chose to go to schools in Hancesti,” Turcanu said in a working meeting at the Ministry of Education. “Over 40% of the students will attend the school in Movileni, 20 children will go to other districts, while two children will study abroad.” Many of the parents have not yet selected a school as they do not know where their new homes will be. The teachers who remained without a job will work at schools in the neighboring villages. “Those who will refuse to be transferred will be offered solutions,” Igor Turcanu said. The transportation problem has been partly solved. A foundation donated a bus for the children from Cotul Morii. A smaller vehicle is needed to convey the students from Sarateni to school.
