More than 1,000 job vacancies were offered at the Career Fair that is held in Chisinau on March 18 and 19. These are provided by about 30 national and foreign companies operating in different areas. The Fair’s project manager Eugeniu Garla has told IPN that the IT, sales, economy and finance are most popular with the visitors of this year’s Fair.

The available jobs are intended both for persons with higher education and for students ready for internship. Entrance to the event is free of charge. According to the organizers, the vacancies made available at the fair cover a wide range of services, such as IT, food industry, banking, recruitment, services, sales and engineering. A fair usually reflects the market demand.

The project manager said that for some of the professions there are a number of vacancies. The previous trends continue at this year’s Career Fair, as regards the distribution of the visitors by sexes: the number of women is practically equal to that of men. The average age of the visitors is 20-30.

The event involves both national companies and international companies that have offices in Moldova. “There are also several companies that only try to find out what is going on in our country. They came to study the market first,” stated Eugeniu Garla.

The ninth Career Fair is hosted by the Center of Military Culture and History. The event is staged each spring and autumn and is designed for employers from different field and young people interested in career opportunities.
