Approximately 1,000 benches will be placed in parks, yards of apartment buddings and in other public places in the municipality of Chisinau. Also, about 600 new garbage cans will be set up in all the districts of the capital city.
Vasile Efros, division head at the General Public Amenities Division, has told IPN that metal benches will be installed in the yards of apartment buildings. The benches for parks and squares will be made from cast iron and reinforced concrete.
Garbage bins without a lid made from cast iron and metal will be placed in yards of apartment buildings, while the trash cans with lid for parks and squares will be from reinforced concrete.
The procedure for procuring urban furniture will start in January-February so that the setting up of this furniture in all the districts of Chisinau is competed by the end of September. About 7 million lei was earmarked in the municipal budget for the purpose.
A number of 120 benches and 90 garbage cans were placed in three squares in Ciocana and Botanica districts and in Telecentru quarter last year. In yards of apartment buildings, there were set up 300 benches and 200 waste bins.
