About 100 rural families to receive money for feeding children under two

A number of 97 families with children younger than two from villages affected by floods will be allocated financial assistance for feeding these children, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a Government Decision. The over 255,000 lei granted by UNICEF under a memorandum signed in the summer of 2010 will be transferred to the accounts of the councils of Hancesti, Cahul, Ungheni and Cantemir districts to be distributed to the 97 families. They were selected by the Ministry of Health. Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu said a study by UNICEF shows that every fifth child in villages lags behind in physical development, as against 11% in towns. Malnutrition is another factor that determines such a situation.
