Aaron Cook wins silver at European Championships in Russia

Wrestler Aaron Cook has won a silver medal at the European Taekwondo Championships that were held in the Russian city Kazan, IPN reports.

In the 80 kg weight class, the naturalized British athlete beat France’s Ismael Bouzid and Ukraine’s Denys Voronovskyy, but lost to Maxim Khramtcov of Russia in the final. This is the second medal won by Cook for Moldova at European Championships. In 2016 he won bronze.

At the European Taekwondo Championships in Kazan, the 22-year-old Moldovan athlete Stepan Dimitrov won bronze in the 58 kg class.
