A passenger train, traveling on the Balti-Ungheni route, caught fire last night, August 29th, around 6 pm, near the village of Sărata Veche, Falesti district. All 33 passengers were urgently evacuated, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, firefighters determined that the fire started in the rear locomotive of the train. The fire damaged the engine section.
The passengers on the train suffered no injuries.
