A specialised market for selling poultry and pets is built in the capital

A specialised market for selling poultry and pets will be built in the capital. For building this market, Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) rent to Municipal Enterprise „Piata Centrala” (IMPC), a piece of land with an area of 5.75 hectares on the street Carbunari. A decision in this sense was adopted, on Tuesday, 28 February, during CMC meeting. Deputy head of IMPC Ion Stratulat sais that the construction of the market will start very soon, once the drafting is finished. Previously, the head of the Municipal Veterinary Service, Radu Mudreac, said that to place such a market there are many international requirements, connected to bird flu. The market has to be covered and the territory fenced that the birds not enter in contact with the wild ones, to work the water supply systems, to put carpets with disinfectant at the entrance and way out of the market. The head of central Market, Ion Stratulat, noted that these requirements would be respected. Previously, bird producers and vendors were selling them near the Central Market. Their activity in open air was forbidden once the bird flu appe4ared in neighbouring countries. The construction of the specialise market for selling the poultry and pets was started at the proposals of vendors, who accept the proposed placement of this market, chosen by local public authorites.
