A programme produced by a group of children from the R. of Moldova has been awarded, recently, the EMMY prize, at 34th International Gala of awarding the prestigious trophy. „We feel like sportsmen who won the golden medal”, Daniela Babici the host of the programme “Hai sa ne jucam” (“Let’s play”), produced in partnership with UNICEF Moldova, told a press-conference on Thursday November 23. The 2-hour long broadcast, has been entirely presented by two young journalists - Daniela Babici and Dumitru Antoceanu, aged 15 and 23 respectively. The programme is a talk-show, combined with special reportages, news and even sports competitions between young journalists and experienced one. Particular attention was paid to children from boarding schools and those with disabilities. According to Danielei Babici, this event had an enormous impact on all those who participated in making the talk-show. The young presenters declared that they are proud of the fact that the R. of Moldova had been nominated for this prize and even won it later, they being those who brought their own contribution to this performance. On Monday, November 20, the R. of Moldova was awarded the Emmy Prize on the International Children’s Day of broadcasting, competing together with other 6 countries. The award ceremony took place in New York, and the prize has been awarded by the famous British actress and UNICEF ambassador Susan Sarandon. The International Children’s day of Broadcasting is celebrated in December since 1991. This year, the holiday will be celebrated on December 10 and will focus on HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1969, International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is an organization totaling 500 members representing more than 400 media companies from 70 states. EMMY prizes are awarded to TV stations outside USA, on 14 categories.
