A person uses about 500 plastic bags during a year

A person over a year uses approximately 500 plastic bags that seriously affect the environment when they are thrown. The data was presented by the social entrepreneurship company Publipan Moldova in a flashmob meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. “A plastic bag decomposes during hundreds of years and eliminates different toxic substances that affect our health and the environment. The plastic bags are thrown in rivers and forests. A lot of animals suffer because of them. We want to bring up our children in a clean country. Society must realize the necessity of recycling them. We should better use paper or cloth bags,” said the company’s head Liliana Busuioc. Publipan Moldova intends to organize a number of activities to inform the public. It will start with the kindergartens and schools and call upon the mothers to fight for a healthy future for their children. The social entrepreneurship company Publipan Moldova raised the problem of use of plastic bags at world level and organizes events with the aim of sensitizing the public to this issue. Liliana Busuioc, together with several volunteers, staged a flashmob meeting in central Chisinau, presenting a play about the number of bags used by a person during a year, which turn into a ‘plastic monster’.
