A person died and five others injured in traffic accidents

Old man died and other five persons, including a child, injured in traffic accidents that happened Monday in Chisinau. The inspector of Traffic Security Service, Administrative Surveillance and Public Relations of Road Police Chisinau, Ion Roscovanu, declared for Info-Prim Neo that the tragic accident took place on Dacia road Nr.5. The 71 year old person was crossing the street when he was hit by an Opel–Combo that was driven by a 21 years old young man. The wounds suffered as a result of the impact were deadly for the old man, who died immediately. Presently the investigation is looking for the responsible persons. At the cross road of Vadul lui Voda Street and Mesterul Manole a VAZ-2121 hit a 11 years old minor. The child suffered multiple wounds, including head wounds, commotion and arm fractures. A woman aged 60 fell from the trolleybus nr.2 at the crossroads of Grenoble Street and Traian Boulevard. The woman was taken to hospital with a head wound and a commotion. Help from doctors was requested by an inhabitant of Panasesti village, Straseni, who was hit on Vasile Alecsandri Street by a car that left the place of the accident. The man suffered multiple wounds, a head commotion, contusions of the chest and internal organs. A drunken 43 year old woman was hit by a car at the crossroad of Vadul lui Voda Street and Ginta Latina. The woman refused to be taken to a hospital, even if she suffered a head commotion. In the first day of the special program „The Pedestrian” one person died and other 2 were wounded. During the day, traffic inspectors wrote 102 reports on pedestrians who crossed the road in illegal places. In the same day, 17 drunk drivers were fined, 19 for dark front windows, 14 for the lack of safety belt, 62 for ignoring the traffic lights and 82 for speed.
