The families with baby children assisted by family centers and the families with twins and triplets from Chisinau municipality will be supplied free with dairy products. The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on October 23 approved amendments to the regulations concerning the free nutrition of children during the first year of life.
Contacted by IPN, Violeta Baltă, division head of the Social Assistance and Health Division, said the old regulations didn’t provide for the feeding of children from health centers. Only those who were under the supervision of private medical centers, local medical associations and polyclinics benefitted from such services.
The CMC also approved a new version of the regulations on the provision of persons with visual impairments with specialized medical, non-medical and ocular prosthetic services. The persons with an average degree of disability were also included at the request of the Association of the Blind.
The municipal councilors amended the regulations concerning the method of providing sets of accessories for determining the glycemic index for persons with diabetes and included the pregnant women. Under the national program for controlling diabetes for 2017-2021, the pregnant women are also provided with five free tests a day.
Under the new version of the regulations on the provision of dental services for persons from socially deprived groups, the persons whose incomes do not exceed 3,000 lei a month can also ask for free prosthetic services. Until now the sum was 2,000 lei. The amendment was made because as a result of the indexation of pensions in 2017, many beneficiaries had the pension slightly higher than 2,000 lei and could be excluded from the waiting lost after waiting for dental prostheses for many years.
