The section of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd between the streets A. Pushkin and S. Lazo and the section of Maria Cebotari St between Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd and București St will be closed to vehicle traffic between 10am and 11am in connection with the funeral of the first President of the Republic of Moldova Mircea Snegur, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the section between the streets Maria Cebotari – 31 August – Sfatul Țării – Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt, Sergei Lazo – Ismail, Columna – A. Mateevici and Bulgară - Vasile Alecsandri will be inaccessible to traffic between 1pm and 2pm.
Parking close to the Palace of the Republic in central Chisinau between 10am and 6pm will be banned.
The streets along which the funeral procession will move will be closed to traffic for a period. Traffic will be diverted onto adjoining streets.
Motorists are asked to strictly obey the instructions of the traffic police, the road signs and street markings and to use alternative routes if they need to cross the center of the capital city.
