A minor and a young woman were injured on Friday in traffic accidents on Chisinau roads. Ion Roscovanu, inspector of the Road Safety and Administrative Supervision Division of the Chisinau Traffic Police, told Info-Prim Neo that both accidents happened in the evening when the visibility was reduced. As a result of the first accident, a 23-year-old young woman was injured in the haunch and shoulder. The woman was hit in the suburban town of Sangera by an Opel-Vectra car driven by a 19-year-old man that had no driver’s license. The second accident took place at the intersection of the streets Nicolae Costin and Onisifor Ghibu. A 16-year-old girl, a tenth grader at the school no.18, was hit by a Daewoo-Nexia vehicle, taxi 1499, driven by a 35-year-old man. Fortunately, the girl was injured only to a left hand finger. Both patients were admitted to the Emergency to undergo a thorough medical control. The drivers have been tested for alcohol. Ion Roscovanu draws parents’ attention to possible accidents while their children are sledding. The last week’s snow has brought much joy to the children who go tobogganing, but can also be the cause of unexpected tragedies, as danger can come from unexpected places. In this respect, the cited source advises parents to look very carefully after children when tobogganing, to explain them the danger of going into streets on their toboggans and to interdict practicing tobogganing on public roads, even if on slopes. 25 road accidents have been registered over the past 24 hours. Policemen applied 360 fines, including 63 for speeding, 50 for ignoring traffic lights, 7 for drunk-driving, 14 for driving with unfastened safety belts and 18 for jaywalking.
