A man is accused of fraudulently obtaining an insurance premium from an auto insurance company, over eight hundred thousand lei, following a road accident. The General Prosecutor's Office informs that the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) announces that he has sent the case to court, IPN reports.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the road accident was simulated at the intersection of Tudor Vladimirescu and Paris streets in Chisinau, between two Mercedes model cars. One of the cars belonged to a bank. Although he did not have an authentic power of attorney, the driver of the car belonging to the bank claimed the collection of damages from the auto insurance company, fraudulently receiving over 800 thousand lei.
For his actions, the accused risks from eight to 15 years in prison, as well as being deprived of the right to hold certain positions or to carry out a certain activity for a term of up to five years.
The other involved persons are investigated in other cases.
