People with little children who are at risk, residing in other districts, but staying temporarily in Chisinau, can access the social service "Day care for children aged four months to three years". The service is free and is located within the Early Childhood Placement and Rehabilitation Center of the capital. It was developed by the Child-Community-Family Association of Moldova, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, IPN reports.

Livia Margineanu, program manager at CCF Moldova, has said that beneficiaries of the day time social service can be the minor mothers, the victims of abuse or domestic violence. Also fathers, grandparents, parental assistants who have no support but have to take care of little children. The child is brought in the morning, at 08.00, and can stay in the care of the employees of the social service until the evening, at 18.00, time during which the persons who take care of the children can go to work.

The inhabitants of the capital are not eligible, because in the capital there are other municipal centers of this type, has mentioned Livia Mărgineanu. At the social service educators and specialists in cognitive and sensory development of children are employed.

Liuba Colţa, a beneficiary of the center, reports that she returned from Moscow, and the friends who were to meet her at the station did not come. "The child was crying, was hungry. A stranger approached us and, after he learned our story, called someone and that's how we got here." The young woman is looking for a job so she could pay the rent. As long as she works, the center's specialists will take care of her child.

Another young woman, Vera Cojocaru, is from Comrat. She is a lonely mother and in order to support her child, she came to Chisinau. "Now I have the opportunity to go to work. I will find a place to stay with the child in the evening, while during the day I will leave him here, "said the young woman.

The service is financed from the state budget, with the purpose of preventing the separation of the child from the family and his institutionalization. Up to 12 children can be assisted here, today there are five.
