The special collections managed by the Old and Rare Books Section of the National Library, which consistof over 30,000 models of documents, will form part of the Book Museum that will be inaugurated next week. The National Library said the Book Museum will be the only one in the country owing to the documentary, historical and artistic content of the books exhibited to the public, IPN reports.
In a press release, the National Library says the Museum is designed to promote and develop the evidence of the past that is passed on by the greatest invention of humanity – the Book, which is a unique object of the cultural heritage and a primary source of information, means of education and formation, complex object of study.
The National Library aims to include the Book Museum in the national tourist circuit so as to contribute to the reinvigoration of the collective memory of modern society.
