97.52% of referendum vote reports counted: 50.09% - “No” vs. 49.91% - "Yes"

With 97.52% of the constitutional referendum vote reports counted, the results look as follows: 50.09% of the participants voted “No” and 49.91% said “Yes” in the plebiscite, IPN reports.

At the referendum, voters answered “Yes” or “No” to the question: “Are you for amending the Constitution so as to enshrine the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union in it?”.

The law will be considered adopted if the majority of citizens who participated in the referendum vote in favor.

The last to vote in the October 20 election were the Moldovans in Canada. In the two polling stations, established in Calgary and Vancouver, voting ended this morning at 07:00 a.m. Chisinau time.
