In 2011 the flag carrier Air Moldova has served 9,500 passengers that chose the Chisinau International Airport as a transit point, Info-Prim Neo reports. Air Moldova's spokesperson Tatiana Popa said flights from Moscow to European capitals and vice versa through Chisinau have been available since June 2009. Passengers can appreciate the convenience of the Chisinau International Airport as a transit port, considering that the transfer times from one flight to another are around 35 minutes. Tatiana Popa has further said that Air Moldova is undertaking measures for a correct market positioning and is implementing the highest quality and flight security standards to attract more passengers. Air Moldova is the country's leading airline, handling about 50% of flights in Moldova. In 2011 the company has flown over 480,000 passengers to 20 destinations.
