The contest for the BCC member vacancies was announced on September 26. The deadline to submit the files was October 10. Gheorghe Madan, an advisor for the media-related parliamentary committee has told Info-Prim Neo the committee received 10 files, but one candidate pulled out. The candidates have been put forward by the APEL Electronic Press Association, Sf. Gheorghe Peasants Cartel (two candidates), the Christian Democracy Foundation, the Trade Unions Confederation, the NGO “Parents for children's rights”, the Foundation for supporting democracy (two candidates) and the Hyde Park International Association. The Employers Confederation's nominee withdrew from the race. According to Gheorghe Madan, the nominees were to be heard next week by the media committee and then it will vote for them. The two candidates to get the most votes will be put forward to the Parliament to vote for them. According to the Broadcasting Code, the BCC member mandate is 6 years. The members are changed in stages, as the same person cannot hold two consecutive mandates.
