Denmark will provide Moldova with over €9 million in new financial support, Undersecretary of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ole Thonke announced at the Ministerial Conference of the Moldova Partnership Platform in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Of the total amount of financial aid, €2.7 million is allocated for energy efficiency, €2 million for combating disinformation, €2 million for developing the capacity of the security sector, €1.3 million for electoral support, and €700,000 for gender equality.
The new financial support complements Denmark’s €40 million assistance provided for projects and programs, said the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Chisinau.
The Danish official Ole Thonke said that “the assistance from Denmark will strengthen cooperation in priority areas, in close collaboration with the Moldovan authorities and civil society organizations, and now, more than ever, it is important to strengthen resilience, security and stability in Moldova.”
Over 65 delegations gathered at the fifth edition of the Ministerial Conference of the Moldova Partnership Platform that is taking place in Chisinau. They consist of ministers, deputy ministers, state secretaries of the ministries of foreign affairs of the partner states, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations.
