8 plots were allotted in order to build dwelling for public workers

The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) decided on Thursday, 16 March, during the extraordinary meeting, to allot many plots to National Dwelling Service (SNL), in order to draft and build apartment blocks for teachers, doctors and other groups of public workers. The decision was taken on Thursday evening, during the meeting convened by the interim mayor of the municipality Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, when during the first meeting only 24 counsellors voted for this item, being necessary 26 votes. Thus, according to CMC decision, SNL will be allotted 8 plots, and only one of them of the street Nicolae Milescu Spataru has a surface over 2 hectares, and the other, of the street Prigoreni – 1.1 hectares, the total surface being 5 hectares. A part of municipal counsellors were against allotting these plots, proposing to allot them as result of auctions. Interim mayor explained that SNL is a state enterprise and according to, can get plots without any auction. Municipal counsellor Mihai Roscovan said that the plots should not allotted to SNL, as „the latter one has no program but only promises”, and finally these plots could into the hands of certain businessmen. He proposed to allot these plots to Construction Department of CMC. At last, CMC approved the decision with the condition that the list of future inhabitants of these apartments to be approved by CMC, and the cost of 1 square meter to be approved by the Council as well, and to be created a social fund.
