Seventy-seven of the necessary 234 buses for transporting pupils to district schools have been bought. Each cost about 1 million lei. The information was presented by Minister of Education Mihail Sleahtitchi after the Government meeting on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. “For a week, we’ll collect all the data and discuss with the new local authorities about which schools to reorganize. This problem will be solved only after consulting them”, said the Minister. According to him, the general attitude in districts towards the education reform is positive. The Minister added that the scheme of financing schools would change as well. Money will be allotted according to the number of students. The demand for teachers for the school year 2011/2012 is of 1,005 persons: 964 in pre-university institutions and 41 in professional schools and colleges. The vacancies will be filled by young specialists from the 2,600 university graduates. In 2011, 64.8 million lei were allotted for education.
