750 hepatitis patients to receive free treatment this year

750 people from throughout the country will receive this year free treatment for chronic hepatitis. According to the Ministry of Healthcare, the patients will be hospitalized for free at the National Clinical Hospital and at the “Toma Ciorba” Hospital in Chisinau, reports Info-Prim Neo. “If the patient is diagnosed at district medical institutions with viral hepatitis C, he/she is being sent for consultation at the National Hospital or at “Toma Ciorba”, where based on the medical file he/she is programmed for free treatment, starting no later than two weeks from diagnosis”, Minister of Healthcare Andrei Usatii mentioned. Member of the Special Commission for infectious diseases Tiberiu Holban said that hepatitis’ primary symptoms are fever, nausea, bitter taste, feebleness, joint pain and others. In case of such symptoms the specialists recommend seeking immediate attention from a doctor. For the treatment of the 750 patients were allocated 64 million lei from the budget of the Ministry. The data were presented at a press conference organized by the Ministry of Healthcare, with the occasion of the World Hepatitis Day, July 28.
