As many as 72 people died last year as a result of the 497 accidents at work reported to the State Labor Inspectorate. In an annual report, the institution says that 515 persons suffered in workplace accidents in total, IPN reports.
More than 1,000 planned and unplanned inspections were carried out in 2019. There were examined 128 petitions submitted by people.
Fines of 1.2 million lei were paid as a result of the almost 10,000 identified workplace safety and health violations.
