The first 7,000 flu shots purchased from the Russian Federation arrived in Moldova and will be distributed to public health facilities for immunizing professional contingents and categories with a high risk of infection, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, IPN reports.
The flu vaccine is tetravalent and is recommended by the World Health Organization. The Ministry notes that immunization is the safest and most efficient method of preventing infection with flu and preventing complications. The vaccination is recommended to persons from high risk groups.
Another 85,000 flu shots will be donated by the United States of America, while 15,000 have been bought by Moldova through the agency of UNICEF.
