A batch of 350 all-in-one computers and interactive whiteboards has been distributed to 70 schools. The donation, part of the Education System Digital Innovations Program, was provided by UNICEF in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, IPN reports.

The donation is a concrete step towards transforming education, Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun said.

"Digital transformation is an essential pillar of a modern education system, capable of preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the contemporary world. Access to ICT equipment contributes directly to the development of digital competences essential for the future of our children".

The equipment will be installed in five classrooms in each selected school, and 35 of the schools are part of the network of model schools promoting best educational practices. The digital resources will thus not only enhance the educational process but also contribute to the development of an interactive and inclusive learning environment.

Maha Damaj, UNICEF Representative in Moldova, emphasized the importance of this action: "The use of digital equipment in education is the key to opening up new opportunities and ensuring inclusion for all children, regardless of their social background. The resources distributed through this program are a concrete step towards the modernization of the education system in the Republic of Moldova".

In addition to improving the technological infrastructure, the initiative responds to the objective of equipping students with the digital skills needed for the future of the new generation. Mohamed Yassine, education specialist at the Global Partnership for Education, said that "the use of technology in schools is essential to promote inclusion, stimulate innovation and equip children with the digital skills needed for the labor market and economic growth of the Republic of Moldova".

This ambitious project, implemented by UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research and financially supported by the Global Partnership for Education, marks an important milestone for the future of education in Moldova, contributing to the creation of an equitable, modern and sustainable education system.
