70% of the Moldavians opt for European Integration

Nearly 70% of the population will opt for the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union in the case a referendum would be organized show the results of the Public Opinion Barometer presented in Chisinau. 7, 6 % would vote against the integration. For the European integration opt in most cases men – nearly 74%, while only 67, 6 % of women agree with this option. According to the poll, the persons living in the rural areas are more pro-European than the persons living in cities.76% of the Youngsters with the ages of 18 to 29 years choose the European integration comparing to 57,5% of the 60 years persons. If speaking about the nationalities that live in the Republic of Moldova 75% of the Moldavians/Romanians choose the integration in the European organization comparing to 60% of the Russians and 54% of the Ukrainians. 37% of the persons of other nationalities would vote for the integration. The main country that can help the Republic of Moldova in the Integration process is considered to be Romania, 47% of the respondents. 39% of the population thinks the Moldavian authorities should accept unconditionally the offer of the Romania while other 39% consider the offer must be accepted but with several conditions. 36% of the respondents consider that the integration process could be fastened by a profound reform of the country and 1/3 considers the authorities are already draw concrete actions for this issue. Among the impediments in this process the population considers to be the economic situation (32%), corruption (22%), the Transnistrian dispute (20%)
