The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) rented on Thursday 7 land plots to Azerbaijan company Azpetrol, for building filling stations. This item led again to discussions during the meeting of the council. The counsellor had different opinions on building new stations in the capital. Interim mayor Vasile Ursu explained the necessity to allot the land according to the agreement of the central authorities, concluded with the Azerbaijan Company, which is ready to invest huge money in the petroleum terminal of Giurgiulesti near the Danube River. The company conditioned the activities of the south of the country by allocation of lands for building filling stations. Those 7 plots face a surface of 1.6 hectares and are situated in different district of the city. Communist counsellors, certain independent and certain of the Alliance «Moldova Noastra» voted the decision draft. Communist counsellor Victor Borgula said during the meeting that this draft was necessary on the ground that Moldova would have only benefits from the investments of the Azerbaijan Company into terminal of Giurgiulesti. Independent counsellor Mihai Roscovan said that member counsellors of CMC were not sure on their position and „agree to implement anything in the municipality Chisinau”. The norms of building filling stations in the capital are already gotten over twice, according to him, and by this decision the municipal council takes into account the interests of certain business clans, in stead of citizens’ interests. Thus, new filling stations in Chisinau will be built on Calea Basarabiei crossing the street Tabacaria Veche, on Calea Iesilor crossing with soseaua Balcani, on the street Tudor Vladimirescu crossing the street Ismail. Fuel stations will be located as well on soseaua Hancesti, street Mihai Viteazul, soseaua Muncesti and on the street Mihail Sadoveanu crossing the street Vadul-lui-Voda. According to data of the General Architecture and Urbanism Department, there are 97 stations in Chisinau. Another 7 stations are being projected.
