The municipality of Chisinau is at the top of preferences of Ukrainian refugees when it goes to employment. According to the National Employment Agency, 911 citizens of Ukraine have been employed by business entities in Moldova since the outbreak of the war. Most of them, 679, found a job in the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
According to the notifications of employees, the citizens of Ukraine got employed in Chisinau as programmers, engineers, tailors/seamstresses, shop assistants, cooks, waiters, doctors, educators, customer service agents, data entry operators, etc.
The Chisinau City Hall, together with the National Employment Agency, makes effort to offer the Ukrainian citizens support in the employment process.
“The Chisinau City Hall has backed the employment of Ukrainian refugees, offering all the necessary support for their social inclusion. Since the war in Ukraine started, the City Hall has helped refugees to get employed at municipal subdivisions by signing individual work contracts. By concerted efforts, we can offer those who fled from the war a normal life, even if it is far from their homes,” said the deputy mayor of the municipality of Chisinau Angela Kutasevich.
According to official data presented by the National Employment Agency, over 180 employers are ready to hire Ukrainian citizens, declaring about 2,400 job vacancies available to them.
Official data provided by the municipal authorities show that almost 24,000 refugees since February 24, 2022 have been registered and lodged at municipal placement centers. Also, over 53,000 parcels with humanitarian aid have been distributed to Ukrainian refugees at the Patria Lukoil storehouse.
