A man aged 65 from a village of Hancesti district was detained on suspicion of raping his five-year-old granddaughter. The information was confirmed for IPN by the senior press officer of the Hancesti Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol.
The head of the General Police Inspectorate Viorel Cernauţanu told ProTV that a medical forensic exam is to be performed and psychologists are working with the child.
The police were notified by the girl’s mother on February 2. The woman told that the alleged rape took place not on that day, but earlier, when she went to the store and left the child at home in her grandfather’s care.
The family is not socially underprivileged and is under the supervision of the police.
