The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that 38 persons were accommodated at the Center for Asylum Seekers and Refugees situated at 60/4 Dacia Blvd. More people are heading to Chisinau from the Palanca customs post. Their applications are being examined by the Migration and Asylum Bureau. Seven adults and two children were lodged at the Dorm of the General Education, Youth and Sport Division located on Creangă St. Many of those who cross the border go to relatives or pass through Moldova.

The municipality will announce where the people can take aid for the refugees. There will be opened a bank account for those who want to donate money.

The Commission for Exceptional Situations adopted an ordinance to allow Ukrainian citizens to enter the Republic of Moldova, including with internal IDs, and without the obligation to present a COVID-19 certificate. The minors are admitted with birth certificates, internal identity cards or passports. The vehicles can enter Moldova without a green card, on condition that this is purchased within 24 hours.

On February 24, about 4,000 Ukrainians entered Moldova. An increasing number of persons apply for protection. According to the authorities, there are persons who cross the country to get to Romania or other EU member states or who do not need protection as they have relatives in Moldova and go to them. But there are also persons who ask for the protection of the Republic of Moldova, which undertook international commitments in this regard.
